What Are Recovery Codes?
Recovery codes are one-time-use codes that let you sign in to your Tomba account if you can't access your authenticator app or email. Think of them as emergency backup keys for your account.
Each code can only be used once. Once you've used a code, it's no longer valid.
đ How to Get Your Recovery Codes
In the Two-Factor Authentication section, click View recovery codes (or Generate recovery codes if you haven't created them yet).
A list of recovery codes will appear on your screen.
Save these codes immediately â you won't be able to see them again after closing this window.
đ How to Store Your Codes Safely
Your recovery codes are just as sensitive as your password. Here are some safe ways to store them:
Password manager â Save them as a secure note in your password manager (recommended)
Print them out â Keep a printed copy in a secure location, like a safe
Encrypted file â Store them in an encrypted document on your computer
Do not store recovery codes in plain text on your phone, in an email, or anywhere easily accessible.
đ How to Use a Recovery Code
If you can't access your authenticator app or email when signing in:
On the two-factor verification screen, look for the "Use a recovery code" option.
Enter one of your unused recovery codes.
You'll be signed in to your account.
Remember: Each code can only be used once. After using a recovery code, we recommend generating a new set of codes.
đ Generate New Codes
If you've used most of your recovery codes or think they may have been compromised:
Click Generate new recovery codes.
Save the new codes â the old ones will no longer work.
