If a search finds nothing, does it use credits?

Most Tomba searches use no credits when they find nothing, with a few exceptions.

Written by Tomba.io Team

No. In most tools, a search that finds nothing uses no credits. You're only charged when you get a result.

What always uses a credit

These checks use a credit every time, even with no result:

  • Phone Validator: 1 search credit

  • Email count, which shows how many emails we have for a company: 1 email count credit

  • Email format, which shows the format a company uses: 1 email count credit

  • Location, which shows where a company's people are based: 1 email count credit

Email Verifier

Each check uses 1 verification credit. That includes webmail addresses, such as Gmail and Yahoo, which show a Webmail status. A check is free only when the result is disposable or unknown.

Bulks

Bulks work differently. You pay when you first download the results, not when you create or start the bulk.
