Why is my account marked as suspicious?

What it means when Tomba flags an account as suspicious, what triggers the flag, and how to clear it.

Written by Tomba.io Team

If your Tomba account is marked as suspicious, our automated security systems have detected activity that matches a risk pattern. A suspicious flag is raised by our Web Application Firewall (WAF), which continuously monitors the platform for high-risk behaviour.

Suspicious is not the same as banned

A suspicious flag means your activity has been detected and is under review. A ban means access has already been revoked. If you can no longer sign in at all, your account has been banned rather than flagged — see Why was my account banned on Tomba.io? for that case.

What triggers a suspicious flag

  • Multiple accounts. Creating more than one account breaches our Terms and Conditions and is one of the most common triggers.

  • Flagged or low-quality VPNs. Connecting through a VPN service with a poor reputation can trip our automated security checks.

  • Unusual or abusive usage. Spammy or abusive use of Tomba's tools is treated as misuse.

Our WAF can act automatically, without prior warning, when behaviour matches a known pattern of abuse.

How to clear the flag

Contact us at [email protected] and include:

  • Your account email

  • A short explanation of your use case

Our team will review your request and get back to you as soon as possible.

How to avoid being flagged

Use a single account, avoid connecting through flagged VPN services, and keep your usage within the Terms of Service. If your team needs shared access, invite them to your team instead of creating separate accounts.
