A webhook is a web address that Tomba sends each new lead to. Use one to get your leads into an app that Tomba doesn't connect to directly.
Before you start
You need a paid plan. On the Free plan you'll see Webhooks is a premium feature.
The receiving app must give you a web address for Tomba to send to. Zapier and Make can both do this: use Webhooks by Zapier in Zapier, or start a Make scenario with a webhook.
Set up your webhook
Step 1. Open Settings > Webhooks.
Step 2. Fill in Webhook Name with a name you'll recognize, from 2 to 50 characters. Paste the receiving app's web address into Endpoint URL.
⚠️ Important: Use an address in lowercase. Tomba saves the whole address in lowercase, so an address with capital letters may stop working.
Step 3. Leave HTTP Method on POST. Leave Custom Headers empty unless the receiving app asks for one. A custom header is a name and value that proves to that app the lead came from you.
Step 4. Turn on Webhook Status. New webhooks start switched off.
Step 5. Select Create Webhook. The page now shows Active.
To test it, add a lead in Leads with New lead, then look for it in the receiving app.
What Tomba sends, and when
Tomba sends a lead every time one is created in your account. It doesn't send anything when you edit or delete a lead.
Each lead includes these details, when you have them:
Email address, first name and last name
Company, website and job title
Phone number, Twitter and LinkedIn
Notes and lead score
⚠️ Important: Tomba doesn't record whether a lead arrived. Check the receiving app to make sure your leads are coming through.
💳 Credits: Saving a lead uses no credits.
Common questions
Can I have more than one webhook?
No. Your account has one webhook. If you change its address, the new address replaces the old one.
How do I stop sending leads?
Open Settings > Webhooks, turn off Webhook Status and select Save Changes.
Why aren't my leads arriving?
First check that the page shows Active. Then check that your address has no capital letters. Only leads created after you turn on the webhook are sent.
Should I use a webhook or a CRM connection?
If you use Pipedrive, Mailchimp or Airtable, connect your CRM instead. Use a webhook for other apps.
