Use Tomba in Claude Desktop

Connect Tomba to Claude Desktop, then ask Claude to find and check emails for you.

Written by Tomba.io Team

Connect Tomba to Claude Desktop, and you can ask Claude in plain words to find emails, check them and look up companies. You don't need to open Tomba.

Before you start

You need a Tomba account and Claude Desktop, Claude's app for your computer.

Connect Tomba to Claude

Claude calls this a custom connector, which is a link to an outside service. You sign in to Tomba, so there's no key to copy.

  1. In Claude, open Customize > Connectors, select +, then Add custom connector.

  2. Enter https://mcp.tomba.io/mcp. Leave the fields under Advanced settings empty.

  3. Select Add, then Connect.

  4. Sign in to Tomba in the browser window that opens, and approve access.

To check that it worked, open the Tomba connector under Customize > Connectors. You'll see its list of tools.

If your team uses a Claude Team or Enterprise plan

An Owner adds the connector first, under Organization settings > Connectors. They select Add, then Custom, then Web. Each member then selects Connect on it under Customize > Connectors.

Use Tomba in a chat

In a chat, open the + menu, then Connectors, and turn on Tomba. Then ask for what you need:

💳 Credits: Each lookup uses your plan credits, the same as in the app. For example, finding an email uses 1 search credit. Tomba adds no extra charge for using Claude.

Use the desktop extension instead

Tomba also has an extension for Claude Desktop. It needs your API key and secret key instead of a sign-in. These are private codes that let another app use your Tomba account.

Step 1. Open Integrations in Tomba, and select Connect on the Claude Desktop card. The Claude Desktop Integration window lists the steps.

The Claude Desktop Integration window, with its title outlined, listing the five steps to install the Tomba extension

Step 2. In Claude Desktop, open Settings and browse to the Extensions section.

Step 3. Open the Desktop extensions tab and search for Tomba.

Step 4. Install the extension, then enter your API key and your secret key, which the window calls API secret.

Disconnect Tomba

Step 1. Open Settings > Connected Apps in Tomba.

The Connected Apps page with three example apps, with arrows on Connected Apps in the menu and on the Revoke link for Claude

Step 2. Select Revoke next to Claude, which may show as Claude (CIMD), then Revoke Access.

The desktop extension uses your API key, so it isn't listed here. To stop it, select Reset Key on the API Keys page. Any other app using that key stops working too.

Common questions

Can Claude change anything in my Tomba account?

Only two things: it can add a lead and create a data flag, which is a report about wrong data. Everything else only reads.

Why can't Claude show my usage?

The usage and logs tools don't work when you connect by signing in. Check your usage pages in Tomba instead.

Claude says Tomba needs authentication. What do I do?

Your sign-in isn't finished. Select Connect on the Tomba connector and sign in again.
